I am a person who has a disability & uses a wheelchair. I rely on my chair, but am not bound to it. Another term to avoid at all cost is confined as in "confined to a wheelchair." It is confined to me. I am in control of it. It is confined to my needs & desires, not the other way around. I just thought you'd find this helpful when writing descriptions, commercial, etc. "Wheelchair bound" & "confined to a wheelchair" are terms that are politically incorrect. (As is my nickname, but that is a private joke, not something I would use in a commercial.) It is up to people in the mobility industry to take a stand and not let this get out of hand again. We don't want a few bad eggs to ruin quality healthcare for everybody.
